Is he really called Melvin? -- MisterJames (talk) 17:23, 14 January 2021 (UTC)

I couldn't find a source to back this up. Maybe it was mentioned in the series? -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 17:29, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
While I didn't watch, I didn't listen to every episode and I only heard him be called Mr. Peebles. -- MisterJames (talk) 16:25, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
I've watched every episode and didn't hear that first name be mentioned. Perhaps it could've also been mentioned in a comic (since Magilla had comics), but even that sounds just as doubtful. I've removed it awhile ago when I couldn't find a official source mentioning it. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 17:26, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
BTW, you actually can view some of the comics here. It's free to do so. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 17:37, 19 January 2021 (UTC)

Now that you mention it, Peebles is similar to Cosmo Spacely from The Jetsons in some ways; Both are short men with short-tempers, both are a similar shape, both are balding, both own a company with their name in it and both usually yell at the person that irritates them the most. One of the only differences is that Spacely isn't altogether miserable to the point where he nearly ended his life in one episode (which Peebles nearly did). -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 07:51, 12 February 2021 (UTC)

In Nightwing/Magilla Gorilla Special, he's called Mel, so obviously this name has come from somewhere, we just don't know where it came from. -- MisterJames (talk) 16:19, 12 February 2021 (UTC)

Since there's no HB sources to Melvin, we're just going to have to assume that Melvin originated in Harvey Birdman. -- MisterJames (talk) 16:44, 12 February 2021 (UTC)

Was it mentioned there? I don't recall it. I don't recall his name being mentioned anywhere and it's unlikely that it was mentioned. It sounds like his name is something someone made up on the Wikipedia page. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 16:57, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
It's definitely used in Harvey Birdman, because they use it to make a joke with Melvin Van Peebles. -- MisterJames (talk) 17:47, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for bringing up where it was mentioned in that series, I might have not been paying attention to additional stuff like that and that's probably why I don't recall it. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 18:31, 12 February 2021 (UTC)

Yo, Yogi

I think he might be in "Jellystone Jam." I remember him not being quite distinct. -- Signed by James (talk) 19:34, 4 April 2022 (UTC)

I also remember him in YY (in "Yipp-Yo, Yogi"), but I don't recall in "Jellystone Jam." Though that's just me because it's been awhile since I've last seen the series. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 20:29, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
