Behind the scenes
- The Hall of Heroes and the Justice Friends are parodies of the Hall of Justice and the Super Friends, respectively, from Hanna-Barbera's Super Friends franchise. Three of the Justice Friends (Major Glory, Krunk, and Val Halen) would star in their own semi-fictional sitcom The Justice Friends, that would take the place of Dial M for Monkey.
- Capital G is a parody of Super Friend Vulcan.
- There are a couple of Marvel Comics references. The first is the Quadjet that Major Glory mentions, which is a reference to the Avengers' Quinjet, and the newspaper referring to the Super Friends as the "Earth's mightiest heroes," which is what the Avengers are called.
- The promoter resembles the boxing promoter Don King.
- Newstime is a parody of Time magazine.
