Legends of the Superheroes is an American live-action action-comedy television series produced by Hanna-Barbera and DC Comics for NBC. It aired in 1979, only lasting two episodes or specials, with further specials canceled due to a lack of interest from the producers and the poor quality of writing from the specials already produced.[1] Although not directly linked to the Super Friends series, it is heavily inspired by it.

In popular culture

  • In an allusion to "The Roast," in the Batman: The Brave and the Bold episode "Crisis: 22,300 Miles Above Earth!," the Joker hosts his Superhero Celebrity Roast in a Gotham warehouse for his fellow supervillains reminiscent of the Legion of Doom, where he has kidnapped Batman to be roasted, both figuratively and literally. One of the guest roasters is celebrity Jeff Ross, held at gunpoint.
