The Flash, the alter ego of Barry Allen, is a superhero and one of the main characters of the Super Friends franchise. Nicknamed "the Scarlet Speedster," he is known for possesing "superspeed," which includes his ability to run, move, and think extremely fast. He is also a recurring member of the Super Friends. His voice was originated by Ted Knight in the first series, and by Jack Angel in later seasons.

Behind the scenes

  • The Barry Allen incarnation of the Flash is a DC Comics character created by writer Robert Kanigher and penciler Carmine Infantino. He made his first appearance in Showcase #4 (October 1956).
    • Barry was the second character known as the Flash after Jay Garrick, the original Golden Age Flash who originated in Flash Comics #1 (January 1940), and created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Harry Lampert.
