Main article: List of pop culture references to Jonny Quest
  • Mike Pence, the Vice President to the 46th President of the United States Donald Trump, has been compared to Race, which led to a string of animated segments on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where non-sequential archival footage of Race from the original series would be used for reactions to whatever dumb thing President Trump had said in that week. In the cold opening sketch ("Ukraine, Not Me-Kraine") for the October 4, 2019 episode, one of the scenes used was of Race flipping Sumi. Then for the cold opening sketch ("To Coup or Not to Coup") for January 5, 2021, a scene of Race fighting Ashida is used.
