Development
The producers wanted Michael J. Anderson to reprise his role as Professor Horatio Kharon from "Nightmare in Red," but Anderson declined after feeling uncomfortable with the performance, so they replaced him with Harlan Ellison playing himself again, with the first time occurring in "The Shrieking Madness."
