George Alexander "Alex" Trebek was a Canadian-American game show host and television personality, best known as the host of the quiz show Jeopardy! for 37 seasons from its third incarnation that started in 1984 until his death.

Trebek died on November 8, 2020 from pancreatic cancer at the age of 80. At the time of his death, he had been contracted to host Jeopardy! through to 2022. His final episode aired on January 8, 2021.

The growing popularity of Trebek's tenure as Jeopardy! host led to him playing fictionalized versions of himself beginning with Mama's Family in 1987, and movies beginning with For Keeps in 1988, and ended with Free Guy in 2021. He also voiced other cartoon versions of himself (sometimes with different play on names), which included Rugrats (as Alan Quebec), The Simpsons, Arthur (as Alex Lebek), Pepper Ann, and Family Guy.
