"X, the Exterminator" is the ninth and final episode of Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law season one. It aired on June 8, 2003 on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block. It was written and directed by series creators, Michael Ouweleen and Erik Richter. The Hanna-Barbera series ridiculed in this episode is Birdman itself.

26 years of being unable to steal Harvey's crest, has led X the Eliminator, to become absolutely obsessed with him.

Behind the scenes

This episode gives the Bird Lair a bedroom/bathroom combo.
As an allusion to Birdman being aired with The Galaxy Trio, the "The End" title card to the latter show plays on X's TV.
One of the Birdman posters in X's bedroom is based on the series title card of Birdman.
Harvey wears a lobster bib while he eats a hamburger.
This is the first time Debbie is seen on-screen.
There's a spectator who appears to be Fred Jones, but has darker blond hair and wears completely blue.
There's another spectator who looks like Daphne Blake, but has brown hair, wears a musty top and headband, and a purple scarf.
An option on X's death ray is "Randall, Ray," which was Birdman's real name until it was changed for this show.
Harvey says to Avenger, "Good going, old chum", which is akin to something Adam West's Batman would say to Burt Ward's Robin.
This is the only episode to be directed by the series creators.

Errors

When X first meets Harvey in the building, X's machine has the last "e" missing on "Reverse."
The next shot of Fred, he has brown hair and is wearing green.
The next couple of shots of Daphne include the first one with lighter hair, and she is now in purple, and in the second one, she now successfully has orange hair, but her clothes are blue-green, and her scarf and headband are pink-purple.
Delisle is credited X's wife, although clearly it was supposed to be his mother since he lives in the basement as most stereotypical, jobless adult sons are depicted. The participants in the audio commentary for "X Gets the Crest", refer to X's mother as if that was always the intention.
