Behind the scenes

  • The episode title is a cross between the film Birdman of Alcatraz, and the detention camp at Guantanamo Bay.
  • Secret's trial happened in "Blackwatch Plaid".
  • Birdgirl's introduction turns the show into a parody of the live-action 1960's Batman TV series, which includes the Birdphone, Birdmobile, a secret button in a bust of Phil Ken Sebben to reveal the Birdpoles, Birdsignal, fights with the bad guys with colorful words to point it out like "Punch!" and "Pun!" along with reminiscent music.
  • Following the previous episode where Harvey had a calendar with Victoria Principal's birthday marked for January 3rd (with a reminder on January 2nd), X now has the same calendar marking.
  • Judy and Phil's relationship is not based on the original Birdman cartoon.
  • When Reducto addresses Mr. Mole, Harvey's "mole" reappears from "SPF".
  • When Fred Flintstone pops up and says, "You're dead to me can opener," it is a recreation of what happened in "The Dabba Don".
  • Ouweleer, Richter, and Brewster provide audio commentary for this episode on DVD releases.
