Wait Till Your Father Gets Home is an American animated comedy-drama TV series produced by Hanna-Barbera (H-B) for NBC. It ran from 1972 to 1974, airing 48 episodes. It was the final prime time animated sitcom from Hanna-Barbera up until Fish Police in 1992. Although geared towards adults, its accessibility for the whole family allowed it to be aired on Cartoon Network and Boomerang in their heydays.
Harry Boyle, a middle-aged conservative suburban boomer, must deal with the problems his family presents him, which includes wife Irma, and their three kids; plus-sized outspoken feminist, yet boy-crazy daughter, Alice, long-haired, lazy and unemployed first son, Chet, and second son, the precocious Jamie. Despite his morals, values, and traditional values, he is also friends with his next door neighbor, the ultra-right-wing anti-communist, crackpot theorist Ralph Kane.
Only the first season is available on DVD.
