Birdgirl is an American adult animated superhero/legal spoof television series produced by Bedford Avenue and Williams Street for Cartoon Network's late-night programming block, Adult Swim. It began in 2021. It is a spin-off of Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law, which itself is a spin-off parody of Hanna-Barbera's Birdman.
Judy Ken Sebben must reprioritize her life as a superhero when she is named CEO of her late father's company. But as Judy learns of its dark secrets, she realizes that her alter ego of Birdgirl is still needed more than ever. In undoing the crimes her own father committed and combating other emerging threats of rivals, Birdgirl is aided by an all-new crack team, the Birdteam, in fact, which includes Meredith, the Mindtaker, Strongarm, the Feels, the Big Ten, and Birdcat.

On May 9, 2019, it was announced that Adult Swim gave a series order for Birdgirl, with Paget Brewster reprising her role as Birdgirl from Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law. Micheal Ouweleen and Erik Richter, through ME Productions, created the series and would executive produce, Awesome Inc. would animate, Susan Shipsky would produce, and Rich Ferguson-Hull would direct.[1] The Cartoon Network, Inc., trademarked the name "Adult Swim Birdgirl," and the series logo on January 16, 2020,[2] which was filed by trademark correspondent, Jeanene L. Jobst.[3] The first trailer was launched on March 16, 2021.[4]
On February 9, 2022, Adult Swim officially announced a second season, with Global Mechanic handling animation.[5]
Casting
The rest of the cast were revealed in March 2021, which included Rob Delaney, Sonia Denis, Kether Donohue, John Doman, Negin Farsad, Tony Hale, and River L. Ramirez (formerly Lorelei Ramirez), although oddly their characters weren't named.[4]
On October 5, 2021, Donohue posted a since deleted Instagram pos, that she was recording for a second season of Birdgirl.[6]
Music
The theme song was performed by Leikeli47 and Michael Barney. The music was composed by Michael Kohler at Bluetube, although he's not expressly credited as such. Instead, he's credited for dialogue and other sound edits.
- Opening theme song lyrics
Oh, my God, oh my God
Oh, my God, oh my God
Who's the girl that saves the world?
Hey!
Birdgirl's fanfare
Birdgirl!
- Closing theme song lyrics
Hey!
Who's the girl that saves the world?
Birdgirl!
Wins a fight, unique like pearls
Birdgirl!
Who's the one they can't defeat!

Hey!
Birdgirl!
Birdgirl's fanfare
