"Trap of Love" is a song written by Andy Sturmer, Mark Banker, Tony Cervone, and Mitch Watson for the Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated episode "In Fear of the Phantom." It was performed by Grey DeLisle, Sturmer, Jane Wiedlin, and Kimberly Brooks. From an in-universe point of view, it was written and performed by Daphne Blake, under the stage name of Crush, with backing from The Hex Girls.

History

Daphne and the Hex Girls stage a final performance at the Terror Dome Stadium to lure out the Phantom. But she can't go on with one of their songs at rehearsal, because of believing Fred isn't interested in her and would rather not care about her, which she misunderstood from accidentally overhearing him say. So, the Hex Girls help her write her own song about how she feels.

On opening night, Daphne and the Hex Girls go up on stage and perform her song, Trap of Love, which successfully delivers the message to Fred.

Lyrics

Your unfeeling heart imprisons me
Careless eyes too blind to see
Empty words, an iron cage
Broken heart, bleeding rage

Can't wait for you and me
It's time to break free

Trap of Love
Snared by desire
Trap of Love
Burned by your fire
Trap of love
Snared by desire
Trap of love
Beware the trap of love

Let me be
It's time we part
Set me free, uncage my heart

Can't wait for you and me
It's time for you to see

Trap of love
Snared by desire
Trap of love
Burned by your fire
Trap of love
Snared by desire
Trap of love
Beware the trap of love
