Talk:The Smurfs

If you may have been wondering why this wasn't called "The Smurfs (TV series)," it's because I wasn't sure if this needed to be distinguished between a Smurfs page, which would be like a species page, which I wasn't sure if we needed or not. "Smurfs" as a category seems necessary, but I don't quite think so on a Smurfs species page. And of course, this all applies to Snorks, too. -- Signed by James (talk) 16:59, 28 September 2021 (UTC)

Yeah, I had a category for the Snorks species as well, I don't think we need individual species pages, because having one for the Smurfs is like having one for dogs, humans .etc, so I agree with what your going for. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 17:04, 28 September 2021 (UTC)

I'm happy you added that at the top there, lol. It really helps people know that we're not covering the species as an individual page, rather as a category, same thing applies to the Snorks. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 16:21, 29 September 2021 (UTC)

Smurfs and Snorks

I see a problem with the species categories and the main franchise categories. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 10:12, 28 February 2022 (UTC)

Ah, I see that now. The best I can come up with is "Smurfs (series)" and "Snorks (series)." I only say series instead of franchise, because they never went much beyond both being a series (as there was a few Smurfs specials). Unless you like franchise to keep it all consistent, although it still doesn't make much sense for Snorks. -- Signed by James (talk) 10:23, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
"Main franchise" could also refer to comics too, though I'm not sure if Snorks had any comics and the pre-Hanna-Barbera Smurfs comics don't count under the HB name, though everything after the series for the Smurfs is pretty much based on the HB version since (if I recall correctly) Smurfette was a one off character in the pre-HB comics. I think "(series)" works at best. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 10:37, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
There's also Marvel Smurfs comics, if that's what you're referring to. It was clearly made to capitalize on the Smurfs cartoons, yet was simple adaptations of Peyo's work. But "(series)" it is then. -- Signed by James (talk) 10:41, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
Looks like we already had a main category for the Smurfs titled "The Smurfs." -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 10:43, 28 February 2022 (UTC)

Johan & Peewit

These title cards are kind of difficult because they have the Smurfs in the episodes anyway. -- Signed by James (talk) 10:22, 10 August 2022 (UTC)

True. BTW, I'll start on the Trollkins series. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 17:15, 10 August 2022 (UTC)

Marvel Comics

Marvel Comics did a three-issue run in 1982, but it is based on showing off Peyo's works, not the Hanna-Barbera cartoon. -- Signed by James (talk) 09:14, 27 August 2024 (UTC)

Yeah. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 20:07, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
