Cousins?

Here's where it's mentioned --> [1], it was from some information about Mumbly in one of the LaL comics (can't remember which one). -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 22:14, 27 September 2020 (UTC)

Oh, crud. So it wasn't in the story as when Dread and Dick were revealed to be brothers? I wish I had copied all the pages from those comics when I had the chance. Too afraid to go back on those comic sites now. Don't know what's lurking around. -- MisterJames (talk) 22:47, 27 September 2020 (UTC)
You could also search them up here, since I moved most of the deleted information from Scoobypedia to there to prevent it from being lost. I could go ahead and save the individual comic pages and post them to here (if you would like for me to do that). -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 00:35, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
I wasn't able to make a rundown of saving every page because it would take up space on my device and would make alot of work to do uploading them. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 02:14, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
I'm not sure. I don't think it's that wise to upload everything, since that wouldn't exactly be legal. It'd be like uploading an entire episode or movie. -- MisterJames (talk) 07:54, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
I figured it felt off doing that. Uploading everything makes little-to-no sense. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 01:59, 5 October 2020 (UTC)

Clone?

Here's one of the biggest questions everyone has been wondering. Is Mumbly a ripoff of Muttley? My answer is: No, He's just the copyright safe version of Muttley, because HB didn't know they fully owned the rights to Muttley when Mumbly was made. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 05:16, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

Maybe WB could retcon them back into the same character by revealing Muttley's full name as Muttley Mumbly (at least in a reboot)? -- MisterJames (talk) 20:20, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
Well I'm not sure how that would go considering in LaL #13 they appeared at the same time. Apparently they were cousins, which explains their similarities. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 00:18, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
However, if WB decides to surprise us by making an LaL reboot (or revival series), they would most likely use Dastardly and Muttley instead of the Baron and Mumbly. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 00:23, 6 March 2021 (UTC)

One more thing...

According to Markstein's Toonipedia, the character of Mumbly was derived from Columbo, the titular detective from a 70s TV series. I have personally never seen the Mumbly cartoon, but I have seen episodes of the show that it was inspired by, so I thought that was interesting to look at.

Any thoughts on the matter? --QuestJ65 (talk) 18:36, 25 September 2022 (UTC)

I believe that would be true given the fact that 99.9% of all the cartoons they made were inspired by whatever was popular at the time. -- Signed by James (talk) 18:48, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
