Talk:Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventures

I've thought about the reasons why we in fact could include the DIC version, which would be that it only lasted 8 episodes, it would make the HB version a little more complete, and it would boost the DIC side of things that was started with Captain Planet. The one big reason why I felt there was no need to include the DIC version, however, other than it having nothing to do with what Hanna-Barbera did (the DIC version changed the series a lot, including removing the original movie actors, and even Bill & Ted's clothes were changed for some reason), is that I feel that we got lucky that Hanna-Barbera got to do a cartoon of Bill & Ted to begin with, since they were just given the license to do it, it wasn't created by the studio. The entire series could've been made at DIC to begin with. -- Signed by James (talk) 10:29, 23 August 2024 (UTC)

Facinating. I am already a fan of the movie it's based on and it only took me a while to notice that there was a cartoon that spawned from it. I wonder why they switched production companies for the show? -- QuestJ65 (talk) 17:53, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
Yeah, sometimes it's weird how licensing works, I'm not certain if we should cover the DIC version either. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 18:31, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
What's odd is that Hanna-Barbera weren't against renewing their shows for a second season of just a few episodes. It may simply be the fact that they gave it to DIC for the very reason why they didn't own it to begin with. It's possible that Orion wanted more episodes, but wanted to do it on the cheap, which DIC are known for (which is ironic considering they did Captain Planet, which looked for from cheap, which is itself ironic since it was promoting ecological protection of the planet), and possibly behind the scenes changes as they made the live-action Bill & Ted series at the same time, which the movie actors didn't agree to do. -- Signed by James (talk) 21:09, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
