The Spike and Tyke theatrical shorts were distributed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) in 1957. It is a spin-off of the Tom and Jerry theatrical shorts also distributed by MGM. Only two were made due to the unfortunately timed closure of MGM's cartoon studio. The two shorts were produced and directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera.
Spike & Tyke was also the name of backup segments in Hanna-Barbera's Tom & Jerry Kids between 1990 to 1993.
