Behind the scenes
- The voice of Simone, Adrienne Barbeau, had also starred in horror movies of the 1980s of similar stories/settings, such as The Fog, which deals with ghostly and/or undead soldiers, and Swamp Thing (as a love interest of the title character), which was set in a Louisiana bayou.
- French actress Simone Simon may have been the namesake for Simone, as Simon starred in the 1942 film Cat People, playing a woman who could transform into a panther after kissing another person.
