Neal Adams was an American comic book artist. In 1971, he co-founded the graphic design studio Continuity Associates.

For DC Comics, he created the characters John Stewart, Man-Bat, and Ra's Al Ghul. He is also known for his run on the Batman and Green Lantern/Green Arrow comic series along with writer Dennis O'Neal in the 1970s. For Batman, they redefined the title character as a gothic figure, instead of the campy tone that defined the 60s Batman television show. For Green Lantern/Green Arrow, O'Neil and Adams introduced a mature, realistic tone with stories that dealt with political drama and social issues.

Adams died of sepsis on April 28, 2022, at the age of 80.
