"Huckleberry Hound Meets Wee Willie" is the first episode of Huckleberry Hound season one, and came as a segment of The Huckleberry Hound Show. It aired in the week of September 29, 1958 in syndication. It was written by Charles Shows and Dan Gordon, and produced and directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, the founders of Hanna-Barbera Enterprises.

Huck, as a police officer, attempts to capture an escaped gorilla named Wee Willie.

Detailed summary

The episode begins with Officer Huckleberry Hound patroling the city streets, until he hears a radio call to apprehend a 350-pound gorilla named Wee Willie, who has gotten loose and roaming in "the vicinity of Maine and Broadway." After coming across his suspect, Willie has no intention of being taken in and repeatedly bashes Huck (despite his intentions to not harm the ape). Wee Willie then carries the officer to a construction site, where they both traded a series of wits; including an gag where Willie uses Huck as a yo-yo. Officer Huckleberry eventually apprehends the gorilla by trapping him in a metal barrel, until he later escapes again, taking Huckleberry's entire patrol car with him.
