"Haunted Smurf" is the sixteenth episode of The Smurfs season one, and the twenty-third episode overall. It aired on October 31, 1981 on NBC. It was voice directed by Gordon Hunt.

After the Smurfs' food supply is destroyed due to a fire, the Smurfs travel to a castle that is located in a distant location to seek refuge.

Music

The music was composed by Hoyt Curtin, with musical supervision by Paul DeKorte.

The background music heard during the scene in which the Smurfs travel south to find food and shelter is Symphony No. 40, originally composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. That piece was heard only one other time - an abridged version of that music was heard at the beginning of "Greedy and the Porridge Pot."
