The first book.

Daphne and Velma is a Young Adult book series published by Scholastic from 2020 to 2022. There is also an accompanying unabridged audio adaptation starring Taylor Meskimen, Em Eldridge, and Amy Landon. It may have taken inspiration and planned to have capitalized on the anticipated success of the 2018 direct-to-video film Daphne and Velma, which did not occur. In comparison, the book series has done much better, being fully realized and able to maintain focus on the female stars, while still managing to retain the male members and most important of all, Scooby-Doo.

The first author was Josephine Ruby (a pen name homaging Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! co-creator Joe Ruby), who was then replaced with Morgan Baden, who wrote two more.

The third and final book in the series was delayed indefinitely due to COVID-19 and other unforeseen complications despite being ready, having being postponed from its originally intended target release of February 2, 2021 and pushed back until September 6, 2022. Unlike the first two, which were published physically and digitally, the third was a digital release only.
