"The Zero Hero" is the ninth episode of The Little Rascals season two, and the forty-fifth and final episode overall, and the final episode of the series. It aired on December 3, 1983 on ABC. It was written by Earl Kress, and voice directed by Gordon Hunt.

After Darla is declared the winner of a dream date with television superhero Captain Muscles, Alfalfa is inspired to become a superhero, Alfaman, in order to win back Darla's affections.

Behind the scenes

A commercial for Cocoa Spuds is aired just before the drawing. This may be a parody of Cocoa Puffs cereal.
When the kids encounter a flowing stream on a downtown curb, Alfalfa tries to get them across by mimicking Tarzan's famous call.
When Captain Muscles draws the winner of the dream date, he mentions Darla's name. When their date is underway, he mistakenly calls her Delilah, which insulted her.

Errors

When Darla invites the boys to celebrate her winning the dream date with Captain Muscles, her shoes and socks are pink and white respectively, instead of the usual white and pink.
Maria kisses Alfalfa after he saves her life. Wouldn't that be a violation of U.S. law at their age?
