"The Monster from the Tar Pits" is the sixth episode of The Flinstones season one. It aired on November 4, 1966 on ABC. It was written by Warren Foster, Michael Maltese, and Arthur Phillips, the creators of the show, and produced and directed by William Hanna and Joe Barbera, the co-founders of Hanna-Barbera Productions.
When a cheap film company comes to Bedrock, Fred gets the role of stand-in for Gary Granite, but the role and treatment he gets is less glamorous than he imagined.
