This episode was adapted from the featured story in DC Comics' The Powerpuff Girls #1 called "Squirrelly Burly." It was written by Sean Carolan and Jennifer Moore who were given a "story concept" credit in this episode.

The main title theme and the music were composed by James L. Venable, Thomas Chase, and Steve Rucker. Venable is also credited for providing an additional score. The end title song was performed by Bis. The music editor was Joe Privitelli.
