The Beach Girls was an unsold American live-action musical sitcom television pilot produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions for prime-time viewing which had a single airing by CBS on December 27, 1977. It was written by Mark Evanier,[1] and directed by Stanley Z. Cherry. It starred Frankie Avalon, Kim O'Brien, and Rita Wilson as three aspiring band members who try to get into showbiz while studying music at a fictitious Malibu state college.

It was originally meant to air on January 24,[2] but was postponed at the last minute, indicating that NBC had no interest in picking the series up,[3] before deciding to air the pilot as a one-off special.[4]

Below, the rest of the article will be treated as an episode article would be.

The actresses did not use their voices to sing. Instead, Hanna-Barbera dubbed over their voices with archived songs performed by Kathleen Dougherty, Cherie Moor, and Patrice Holloway, who were the singing voices of Josie, Melody, and Valiere, respectively, in the 1970s Josie and the Pussycats animated series.[1]
