I think to be honest with how they were actually named in the cartoon, we should drop the surnames (except for Cabot, which was used). The surnames we're used to only became in use after they were applied in the live-action movie, which has no bearing on the cartoon. And while I'm here, I might as well bring up the surnames of the ''Funky Phantom'' characters, which I haven't once been able to find evidence in years. -- [[User:MisterJames|MisterJames]] ([[User talk:MisterJames|talk]]) 18:23, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

I think to be honest with how they were actually named in the cartoon, we should drop the surnames (except for Cabot, which was used). The surnames we're used to only became in use after they were applied in the live-action movie, which has no bearing on the cartoon. And while I'm here, I might as well bring up the surnames of the Funky Phantom characters, which I haven't once been able to find evidence in years. -- MisterJames (talk) 18:23, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

I mean, I've only watched the first episode of Funky Phantom, but somehow I can't imagine those surnames ever appearing (unless that's where they really come from, which I doubt). -- MisterJames (talk) 18:23, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
I looked up the model sheets of the Pussycats characters and didn't see those surnames so I'm assuming they were guessed. It was a similar situation with Ding-a-Ling where for the longest time, it was was assumed by many that his surname was "Wolf" (and his "surname" didn't even exist). -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 20:55, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

That was quicker than I thought about Funky Phantom. I assume they're not photocopied and are real. https://twitter.com/weirdlandtales/status/1263941111040684033 -- MisterJames (talk) 18:28, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
