Other roles
Lynde was a character actor who applied a distinct campiness and snarky persona to his work, that was less than subtle about his closeted homosexuality. He played Uncle Arthur on the TV series Bewitched, Harry MacAfee in the musical film Bye Bye Birdie, and sat "center square" on the game show Hollywood Squares from 1968 to 1981.
