The Tom and Jerry Comedy Show is an American animated television series produced by Filmation, in association with MGM Television, for CBS's Saturday morning children's programming. It ran in 1980 airing 15 episodes that spanned one season. It was the first television series based on the MGM theatrical shorts of Tom and Jerry from 1940 to 1967.
Following Hanna-Barbera's toned down version with the 1975 The Tom & Jerry Show, Filmation's show went with a more faithful interpretation focusing on the titular duo's battle of wits. Due to it being a Filmation production, however, the series is notable for its heavy use of reused limited animation and synthesized music score.
