Sgt. T.K. Yu was an unsold live-action police comedy-drama television pilot produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions for prime-time viewing which had a single airing by NBC at 9:00 pm on April 19, 1979. It was written by Gordon T. Dawson, and directed by Paul Stanley. It starred Johnny Yune as the title character T.K. Yu, a police detective (who moonlights as a stand-up comic) who transfers from Korea to Los Angeles.
It was originally meant to air on January 24,[1] but was postponed at the last minute, indicating that NBC had no interest in picking the series up,[2] and then decided to air the pilot as a one-off special.[3]
