Elias Kingston is notable for being one of the villains in the Scooby-Doo animated franchise. He was apparently the owner of the Kingston Mansion, and buried in the Kingston Mausoleum, which Stuart Wetherby took advantage of by dressing himself in a ghostly costume resembling Elias to scare his family aware from the Wetherby fortune, while in another version, he was unequivocally a real person, who founded the Kingston University. His voice was originated by John Stephenson.

In a retold origin, the gang come together as younger children, and decide to solve mysteries together in their town, shown through a montage which includes foiling the ghost of Elias Kingston again, who is presumably Stuart Wetherby still inside.
