Is MGM Cartoons official? Because I did some research and there was nothing glaringly noticeable. It just seemed that MGM had an animation department with no name. This is how it's reflected in the Tom and Jerry shorts pages, and there's almost 200 of them, so I am a bit concerned about that. -- Signed by James (talk) 23:14, 13 February 2024 (UTC)

"MGM Cartoons" was a trade name used for MGM's former animation department as far as I am aware. Thanks for bringing that up, but if we are going to make an article on that, should we refer it as the "Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer cartoon studio"? -- QuestJ65 (talk) 23:19, 13 February 2024 (UTC)
Edit: Changed my mind. I don't feel like risking to create an article about it. Perhaps just leaving the MGM article as is would be perfectly fine. -- QuestJ65 (talk) 23:30, 13 February 2024 (UTC)
The best I can see is that some sheets were stamped with MGM Animation Dept. (I would go with MGM Animation Department), but I'm not entirely sure that's a proper name, or I'm just being difficult. Just having one MGM page and then just having an animation department section might be enough. -- Signed by James (talk) 00:58, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
Good enough. Will add that to the page at somepoint. -- QuestJ65 (talk) 01:27, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
