Talk:Mr. Mxyzptlk

I heard not long ago that there was a Superman comic from 2017 (written by Paul Dini) which explains that Mr. Mxyzptlk is the same person regardless of which medium or continuity he appears in. I was a bit hesitant to consider put it under the behind the scenes section, since the Super Friends incarnation of him has existed years before this comic. But because of how fascinating it was for me to know that he appears more or less the same in every appearance, I thought it would be nice if this could be brought up.

In fact, I had to bring this up because of a video from Watchtower Database, which examines Mxyzptlk's various appearances in comics and other mediums: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6S2Is34q0Q&pp=ygUIbXh5enB0bGs%3D

Any thoughts on that? -- QuestJ65 (talk) 21:03, 18 April 2024 (UTC)

He appears in My Adventures of Superman, and while he is that version's Mr. Mxyzptlk, he can also go to any other universes, so I assume the Super Friends version exists out there. So, similar to what you were talking about. -- Signed by James (talk) 08:41, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
I didn't even think that that 50s Superman could be Super Friends Superman since Super Friends began in the 70s. -- Signed by James (talk) 08:09, 20 April 2024 (UTC)
Apologies for being a little off-topic, but it's quite odd that you've brought this up. If the Superman from "Earth-50" (as Mxy on My Adventures with Superman put it) is supposed to be the character in the 1950s Silver Age comics, wouldn't the Super Friends version of him be from "Earth-73" or something? I think the Earth-50 Superman looks more like how Alex Toth designed him in Super Friends, as opposed to how Curt Swan (and some other artists) would do in the comics back then. Also, didn't the Silver Age comics continuity exist on Earth-One? If anything, I think he might be lying about the designations based on the deceptions he uses throughout that series' episode. -- QuestJ65 (talk) 04:55, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
