Behind the scenes
- In 1977, as part of the CB Bears series, Hanna-Barbera created their own take on the Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner shorts called Blast-Off Buzzard, these shorts followed a similar premise, with Blast-Off Buzzard and Crazylegs baring similarities to Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner.
- Had Mixed Nutz not been cancelled, both characters would've appeared alongside the Hanna-Barbera characters in a series of crossover segments. Two of the proposed ideas would've been "Hound M.D.", a segment parodying House M.D. with Wile E. as Dr. Huckleberry Hound's patient, and an another segment where the Road Runner is pursued by El Kabong of Highway Patrol.
In popular culture
- In celebration of Warner Bros.' 100th anniversary, Wile has a cameo in two special mashup shorts. The first one was of Looney Tunes/Scooby-Doo, with Wile being one of the endless stream of culprits when the ghost of Mr. Hyde had been unmasked; then in the Looney Tunes/Flintstones mashup, the Looney Tunes cast is living in Bedrock, with Wile wearing a full Dino suit.
