Pound Puppies is an American animated comedy television series produced by Hanna-Barbera (H-B) for ABC's Saturday morning children's programming. It ran from 1986 to 1987, airing 26 episodes that spanned two seasons, which followed on from the unrelated movie The Pound Puppies in 1985. It was based on the line of stuffed animals released by Tonka. In the first season, there were PSA-like segments called Pound Puppies Pet Care Corner.
The music was composed and conducted by Hoyt Curtin, who was credited as musical director in the first season. Joanne Miller was musical coordinator for the first season, then was promoted to director of music supervision for the second season.
