Man from Atlantis is an American live-action fantasy science fiction television series created by Mayo Simon and Herbert F. Solow. It was produced by Solow Production Company for NBC's prime-time programming. It ran from 1977 to 1978, airing thirteen episodes that spanned one season. It was preceded by four television movies in 1977, which had a more serious tone than the campy turn of the weekly series format, which led to its cancellation.

An amnesiac man christened Mark Harris, with mysterious aquatic abilities that ties him to the lost civilization of Atlantis, works with the Foundation for Oceanic Research, to help him piece together his past while protecting the seas from evil doers, such as the recurring nemesis, Mr. Schubert.

On July 26, 2011, Warner Archive Collection released the entire series on DVD in a set called Man from Atlantis: The Complete Television Series.

Reading material

Dell Publishing adapted the four television movies in book form.

Marvel Comics then produced a companion comic series between 1977-1978.

In 2016, Patrick Duffy penned a sequel also called Man from Atlantis, with his own ideas of Mark Harris's Atlantean past.

Toys

Kenner produced prototype figures of Mark and Mr. Schubert, and one playset of the Cetacean submarine, with sketches by Steve Hodges for more of both, but was cancelled along with the series. In 1978 spring catalogue, Kenner advertised the Cetacean sub for its Scuba Squad line, but that line never reached toy shelves either.
