As Hanna-Barbera and ABC's answer to CBS' The Waltons, the series is about the rural life and work of the Day family at the turn of the 20th century. There's the widowed matriarch Martha Day, her three children (Ben, Kathy, and Danny), and her father Jeff Day, who has the same last name despite it presumably coming from her late husband. They also owned a dog called Jonas.
