"The Engagement Ring" is the ninth episode of The Flintstones season one. It aired on November 25, 1960 on ABC. It was written by Warren Foster, and produced and directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, the creators of the show and the co-founders of Hanna-Barbera Productions.
When Barney buys an engagement ring for Betty, he asks Fred to hold it for him for safekeeping. But when Wilma finds it and assumes it's for her, Fred decides to then buy Wilma her own ring, although he doesn't have the money, so he forces Barney to enter a boxing match to win 500 dollars.
