Sealab 2020 is an American animated evironmental TV series produced by Hanna-Barbera (H-B) for NBC's Saturday morning children's programming. It ran in 1972, airing 13 episodes. The series later reaired on Boomerang in its heyday. Although not particularly successful, Cartoon Network's Adult Swim revived the series in the form of Sealab 2021, an adult parody that was mostly made up of stock footage from the original series, running from 2000 to 2005.
In the year 2020, a team of oceanographers dedicate their life to explore and protect marine life by setting up a research base called Sealab at the bottom of the Challenger seamount.
The entire series has been released on DVD.
