John Richard Schneider is an American actor and singer, who is best known for playing Bo Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard TV series on CBS from 1979 to 1985 when it ended. He reprised the role in cartoon form when Hanna-Barbera produced The Dukes spin-off during the parent show's run. He is also known for playing Jonathan Kent in The WB's Smallville TV series, based on the formation of Clark Kent's teenage years before he became Superman. The role was much younger than previous incarnations of Jonathan.

- Due to a pay contract dispute he and Dukes of Hazzard costar Tom Wopat had with Warner Bros., they quit The Dukes of Hazzard, leaving Byron Cherry and Christopher Mayer cast as their replacements playing their onscreen cousins. This change reflected in The Dukes when the latter two began in the cartoon for the first season, but were promptly removed for the second season, as the former actors had worked out a new deal.
