Development

Bon-Bon may have been inspired by younger supporting characters from other theatrical cartoons of the time; namely Huey, Dewey, and Louie from the Donald Duck shorts; Knothead and Splinter from Woody Woodpecker; Sylvester Jr. from Looney Tunes; and Pipeye, Peepeye, Poopeye, and Pupeye from Popeye the Sailor.
