Production

Development

Filming

Three directors were credited, including George Gordon, Carl Urbano, and Rudy Zamora. Since Hanna-Barbera were partial to group crediting for their Saturday morning cartoon's entire season, it's unknown if all four of them directed the episode.

Music

The music is composed by Hoyt Curtin.

Behind the scenes

  • The episode title is a play on "Grease is the word", a line in the chorus of the song "Grease" in the 1978 musical film of the same name.
  • When Lumina thinks that Mr. Cool has found Fonzie's friends, he responds jokingly that it's either that or a year's supply of Scooby Snacks.

Errors

  • When Ralph says he'll give up his Captain Cosmo decoder ring to General Calais, he just throws more paper at him.
  • When Cupcake felt obligated to correct Fonzie that Ralph didn't have a key to the time ship, she said it right in front of Umbra.
