Barney Bear is an anthropomorphic bear, and the protagonist and titular character of the Barney Bear animated theatrical shorts. His voice was originated by Rudolf Ising.

Character description

An everyman (or everybear, character, so to speak). Not too dumb, but not too smart, Barney attempts everyday tasks while overcoming various annoyances and obstacles. His cartoons were often luscious but boring slow-moving, though the later entries picked up the pace with zanier Tex Avery-inspired gag. He was occasionally accompanied by his put-upon jackass, Benny Burro.
