Ricky Dene Gervais is an English comedian, actor, director, and writer, best known for creating, writing, and directing the BBC Two mockumentary comedy The Office, in which he played lead character, David Brent, from 2001-2003.

- In the episode he guested in, he is joined by his real life cat, Ollie.
- In The Office episode "Merger," Gervais, as David Brent, gets in trouble for suggesting that Jennifer should take drugs to make her calmer, going into a joke about getting food for her because she has the munchies like Shaggy eating all those Scooby Snacks for the same reason, "dooby dooby doo" was code for a joint, and saying "Raggy" in a poor attempt to sound like Scooby.
- The Ricky Gervais Show retold stories in animated form from Gervais's podcast of the same name, featuring 50s-early 60s Hanna-Barbera-styled characters, and also referenced The Flintstones and Squiddly Diddly.
