Behind the scenes

  • The episode title is a play on the 1937 novella Of Mice and Men.
  • The idea of the moon being made out of cheese came from a combination of the "Fox and the Wolf" fable which dates back to the High Middle Ages, and The Proverbs of John Heywood in 1546.
  • The Woman in the Moon is gender bending of the Man in the Moon, which comes from certain traditions that see the shape of a face in the moon.
