The kids fix up the Mississippi Queen, an old steamboat, after Captain Smokey quit his job due to low traffic a few years before. Everything was fixed except for one problem: the engine failed. [[Buckwheat]] and [[Porky]] row to an abandoned boat down the river, but a swift current takes them off course and heading towards a waterfall. The kids, Pete and Captain Smokey risk their lives to save Buckwheat and Porky from getting killed.
