Mr. Wikles, also spelt Mr. Wickles, is notable for being the first villain in the Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! animated franchise. He was the curator of the County Museum and dressed up as the Black Knight to scare visitors away during his art forgery scheme. He is voiced by Don Messick.
There is also a live-action version called Jeremiah "Old Man" Wickles, who had served his time in prison after committing a crime in Coolsville as the Black Knight Ghost, and wanted to turn a shut down mining town into an amusement park. He also owned an ancestral mansion.
Character description
Wikles is a fairly short, overweight and middle-aged male. While bald on top of his head, his remaining hair is black, and he wears round and thick-framed black glasses. As the Black Knight, he wears a medieval armor with a heavy plating, yellow eyes, and a red plume on its helmet.
Wikles appears to be good-natured, as he told the gang of Professor Hyde White's disappearance. However, his claim would make him appear more suspicious by the gang during their investigation of the case.
