The Powerpuff Girls

The City of Townsville is a city and the central location of the Powerpuff Girls animated franchise. It is a large-scaled metropolitan area known for its massive cityline, and is the largest city in Pokey Oaks County. At the start of each episode in the original series, the Narrator always opens it with the phrase, "The City of Townsville..." It is also where the most of the franchise's characters live in, namely the Powerpuff Girls and their host of enemies.

• Contrary to its name, Townsville is not a town or a village.
• Townsville is similar to New York City and San Francisco.
• Though not related to the series' main location, there is an actual city named Townsville in Queensland, Australia.

In popular culture

• During the end credits of the Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends episode "House of Bloos, Part 1," Bloo watches the opening intro to the 1998 Powerpuff Girls cartoon, which is happening off-screen, ending a little differently as it includes the Narrator announcing, "The City of Townsville," as if the episode has already started.
