The New Shmoo, also known as The Shmoo, is an American animated comedy TV series produced by Hanna-Barbera for NBC, based on Al Capp's L'il Abner comic strip. It ran from 1979 to 1980, airing 16 episodes that spanned one season; the last five episodes were packaged with The New Fred and Barney Show and The Thing to be released under the banner of Fred and Barney Meet the Shmoo.

Mickey, Nita, and Billy Joe, four teens who work for Mighty Mysteries Comics, also solve crime with a unexplainable white blob-like creature called the Shmoo. The series is a "clone" of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!

Shmoo was later incorporated into The Flintstone Comedy Show, despite the fact it was set a million years beforehand.
