Revision as of 10:53, 21 April 2021

I think it may be worth just compiling the Yogi shorts from Huckle's show and Yogi's show into one. -- MisterJames (talk) 21:06, 17 September 2020 (UTC)

I completely agree with that. You can do that if you want to. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 21:11, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
There's just so many uses for his name, it was easier to just direct it to a Yogi Bear disambiguation link. (Maybe it could have at least one form of direction to his segments.) I don't know where you stand on a disambiguation link actually having "disambiguation" in the link name. -- MisterJames (talk) 21:32, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
Sure, a disambiguation page would work better. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 21:50, 17 September 2020 (UTC)

Seasons

The New Yogi Bear Show in 1988 was supposed to have new shorts and then the old shorts from The Yogi Bear Show, as if it should be considered a simple continuation almost 30 years later, the same way the 80s episodes of Jetsons are considered part of the same series as the 60s episodes. But then there's also the Yogi shorts of The Huckleberry Hound Show. I would like to treat Yogi Bear Show shorts and the New Yogi Bear Show shorts as the same series, so there are basically three seasons, but then should we also count the Huckleberry Hound Show shorts as two other seasons, making it five in total? -- MisterJames (talk) 17:32, 24 September 2020 (UTC)

I would also consider the same thing because of very little differences between all three of them. Maybe if we had one page for all three and make the episode list' separate from one another that would also work. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 17:43, 24 September 2020 (UTC)

Maybe it would be a good (or bad) idea to just ditch having pages like "Huckleberry Hound (TV series)" and "Yogi Bear (TV series)" pages and just have those shorts be part of The Huckleberry Hound Show and The Yogi Bear Show (as well as the then-new 80s Yogi shorts specifically being made for The New Yogi Bear Show), since it seems more appropriate for them. There is the problem though of the Yogi shorts in both series. Maybe in Yogi's case, the ones from The Huckleberry Hound Show can be put into a page called "Yogi Bear (1958 TV series)". -- MisterJames (talk) 22:49, 24 September 2020 (UTC)

I was also thinking about that formatting. I would find it more necessary to merge the segment to the main series (Yogi Bear (TV series) --> The Yogi Bear Show, Huckleberry Hound (TV series) --> The Huckleberry Hound Show). -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 23:13, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
Okay, cool. We both agree with that then. -- MisterJames (talk) 23:21, 24 September 2020 (UTC)

I know we discussed it elsewhere but this is the best place I can think of to bring it back up. I've been rethinking how to treat segments within larger shows, and I've tried justifying it in my head, and I think that can work, but I'm also thinking that it may work better if we used "(segments)" (which would include a year for some) in the page name because they are only segments. I don't know if they could truly be considered a show. The Wally Gator segments were all detached and put onto DVD as if that were the case when it aired on TV, but there was never truly a Wally Gator Show. My change of thought stems from the fact that I did want to say "Space Ghost (1981 TV series)" but now I'm thinking "Space Ghost (Space Stars segments) would be better. -- MisterJames (talk) 20:46, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

For Huckleberry shorts, they could be "Huckleberry Hound (segments)". That seems pretty simple now that I write it out, I thought it was going to be more complex. But then if we go back to Yogi, I was thinking "Yogi Bear (Huckleberry Hound Show segments)", "Yogi Bear (Yogi Bear Show segments)", and "Yogi Bear (New Yogi Bear Show segments)". -- MisterJames (talk) 20:46, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

Yeah "(segments)" work, but won't I have to go back and do the same thing with Hokey? I've already made every short of the segment. For Yogi, I think we should do that, I really don't like the idea of how on the Boomerang app, they just mixed all of the Yogi shorts together, which can be confusing to some. I was actually thinking about having a gallery on series' pages for model sheets of each character (maybe that could work?). -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 21:07, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
Unfortunately, yes, that would mean going thru Hokey again, sorry. But I can do that work if you'd like, and can also adjust the Hokey series page as well. As for the gallery you're talking about, I think that's kind of irrelevant when there's character galleries for that. I'm not sure how you could narrow that down for it to work in a way that (dare I say it) other people would come and think just about anything can be added. -- MisterJames (talk) 21:44, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
I see where your going at with this on the galleries, it would've made it irrelevant to the series pages if we had galleries for model sheets, so nevermind about that, sure you can help out with the Hokey shorts. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 21:52, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

Patrick Schumacker

Schumacker, who's a producer on the Harley Quinn cartoon, mentioned he pitched a more mature cartoon in a similar vein to Bob's Burgers, where climate change had burned down Jellystone, leaving Yogi, Boo Boo, and Cindy to move out to Los Angeles. Microsoft store

I recently discovered that Yogi's Treasure Hunt is miraculous available in the Microsoft store. I would like to buy the series, even though "Curse of Tutti-Fruitti" is timed for being 14 minutes long. -- MisterJames (talk) 19:19, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

That's awesome, it sucks WB didn't release it onto DVD, but I think Wally Gator was on there before it was released onto DVD, so who knows maybe one day WB will release it onto DVD. Since WB is doing volumes for the Huckleberry Hound Show and Laff-A-Lympics instead of just releasing the entire series, maybe they'd released the rest of those series onto DVD at some point? The entire Huckleberry Hound Show is on the Boomerang app, but it only appears to be the Huckleberry segment, no Pixie and Dixie, and no Hokey Wolf. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 19:35, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
Microsoft is also selling all the Snagglepuss shorts together, which is unusual. -- MisterJames (talk) 21:11, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

I guess that Tutti-Frutti episode is just short for some reason. Nothing seems to be missing. Unfortunately, I'm not able to do any screenshots, but at least I have the episodes to watch and use for info. I took a bunch of screenshots from uploaded videos for Yogi Bear Wiki, except for the Snow White episode, so it's nice to finally be able to see that and just have the entire series again. From the way the first episode started, the quality looked quite with the theme song, but it got better. If only screenshots were allowed. I tried watching them through Leawo, but they're not going to allow me to do that, obviously. LOL. -- MisterJames (talk) 21:31, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

That definitely sucks that you can't grab any screenshots. Actually, I do remember a high-quality version of the intro on YouTube, I'm going to go take that title card screenshot so I can upload it here. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 23:15, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
