Clones or Ripoffs?

For the longest time, I've seen people point out that alot of HB classics were "clones", "ripoffs" or "duplicates" of earlier shows made by themselves, especially in the 60s my guess is that they were actually reusing the same ideas when it came to the 60s and 70s, examples?: I'll take an example from Hokey's show (which was the most apparent reused idea), Hokey's plot lines are very similar to what we had with the Yogi shorts in the 50s and to make things better, Top Cat was also a suspect in this when some of the plots started to be reused from what we had from Hokey. It might very well have been a tradition for HB to reuse the same ideas on repeat but that doesn't make them unwatchable. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 05:40, 5 October 2020 (UTC)

Actually, I think I heard Joseph Barbera confirmed that they were reusing the same ideas. But I couldn't find the source of where he confirmed it. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 15:39, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
I think I heard the same thing somewhere. -- MisterJames (talk) 20:54, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
ABC seems to have been pushing HB into making more Scooby episodes. It could very well be possible that they pushed HB into making Scooby lookalikes. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 06:13, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
I think I heard that back then, recycling plot lines was cheaper than making original plot lines (which was what alot of HB show did in those decades) which actually explains the "Yogi -> Hokey -> Top Cat" thing. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 02:34, 17 October 2020 (UTC)

Droopy

I want to include the Droopy shorts that Bill and Joe produced, I'm just not sure about the shorts before that they have no involvement with. Starting near the end suddenly would be odd, so just including all them so it's complete might be better. -- MisterJames (talk) 11:12, 7 October 2020 (UTC)

Good call adding them in, it's a similar format with the Tom and Jerry shorts and since their allowed in, it only makes sense to allow in the Droopy shorts aswell. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 10:36, 17 October 2020 (UTC)

Accurate sounding HB theory

As if this picture wasn't enough.

Every HB show could very well be filmed within the HB universe, which explains most of the fourth wall breaks. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 19:24, 11 October 2020 (UTC)

Sounds like a rational theory. -- MisterJames (talk) 10:26, 17 October 2020 (UTC)

Decades

I'm trying to figure out the best layout for pages by decades. -- MisterJames (talk) 00:05, 17 October 2020 (UTC)

Sounds like a good idea. I think there should definitely be what was made in the decade. I'm thinking for segments, we could do the following:
  • *Main show name* (*year*)
    • *Segment name* (*year* if necessary)
    • *Segment name* (*year* if necessary)
    • *Segment name* (*year* if necessary)

How does that formatting work with you? -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 02:29, 17 October 2020 (UTC)

Thanks. I'll try and work that in. -- MisterJames (talk) 10:27, 17 October 2020 (UTC)

DNA

I watched a video about Hanna-Barbera's inkings that featured Joseph Barbera, the man used his own DNA for his own ink.[1] -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 23:05, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
